What To Do With The Time We Have
I’ve noticed that it takes a few times before a message finally clicks for me. I’m stubborn. While the self awareness is important, I can be hard-headed when it comes to following directions or taking advice. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with needing a few more nudges to be pushed down a particular path.
It just means the thought needs a little more cooking on the inside before it’s ready.
Some truth might be better — a little slow cooked anyways.
I had this epiphany this morning: we are going to spend a greater portion of our life sleeping and going to work.
This thought has hit me in a period of life where a lot around me is unstable and I feel I don’t have much of a grasp on what I should be doing. This epiphany lead me to two conclusions.
- The work I do matters. It isn’t just “work”.
There are many industries, career paths, and streams of income available to us in 2019. The growth in technology infrastructures, resources, and creative job markets is opening doors we didn’t know were possible 20–30 years ago. The meaning of work has changed just as much as the actual work has changed.
The jobs we pursue now actually reflect our quality of life more than our time away from work, which used to be more of what we defined as a…
