Childish Gambino’s 2013 project, Because the Internet, released just over 10 years ago, has shaped the last decade of my life.

I’m approaching 30 years old in the next 6 months.

In reflection on this, I was drawn to Childish Gambino’s (Donald Glover) album because the internet [literally works in every sentence], over the past 10 years has altered many of the ways we interact with one another.

Personally, I was 19 (sophomore in college) when the album released.

Now I’m 29 (more lost and confused) and it has captured an important 10 year ark in my life.

Thinking outside of myself, (particularly from the perspective of living in the United States) if you think back on the last 10 years — elections, political scandals, great losses from public figures, a pandemic, social unrest, among other things.

Our responses to and interactions with these events have been shaped by the internet in unprecedented ways in comparison to a previous 10 year periods.

Are We Too Honest?
